Black Rice Biryani
Cooking time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Red Rice (Soaked for 2 hours)
- 3 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tsp Jeera
- 2-3 Tej Patta
- 4-5 Cloves
- 4-5 Green Cardamom
- 4-5 Black Peppercorns
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic & Green Chili crushed
- 1 cup Vegetables of choice
- 2 Tomatoes 3 Onions pureed
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1/2 cup Soya Vadi / Chunks
- 3-4 cups Water
- 2 tbsp Curd
- A pinch of Saffron
- A few Mint Leaves
- A pinch of Garam Masala
- 1 tbsp Badshah Biryani Pulav Masala
Method:
- Soak your rice for 1 to 2 hours.
- In a pan heat up 2 tbsp ghee and add the jeera.
- Once the jeera starts to sputter add tej patta, cloves, green cardamom, black Peppercorns, cinnamon stick, ginger garlic and green chili.
- Cook for two minutes before adding you vegetables.
- Sautee for two minutes then add the tomato puree.
- Let the mixture cook for a few minutes then add turmeric, red chili powder and garam masala.
- Then add your soya chunks and 3 cups of water.
- Add salt to taste.
- Cover with a lid and let it cook for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Once cooked add your yogurt.
- Now add your rice, 1 tbsp ghee, gulab jal, mint leaves, Badshah biryani pulav masala and saffron.
- Add 1 cup water.
- Cover with a lid and let cook for 20 minutes or until cooked.
- Enjoy it with your family and friends.
