Lasooni Chicken

LASOONI CHICKEN

Preparation time: Minimum 3 hours.
Cooking time: 45 minutes to 1 hour

Ingredients:-

  • Dahi – 1 cup
  • Ginger-garlic-green chilli paste – 1 tbsp
  • Lime juice – 1 tbsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Kitchen King Masala – 1 tsp
  • Chicken Masala – 1 tsp 
  • Coriander Powder – 1 tsp 
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp 
  • Badshah Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp 
  • Chicken (thigh boneless) – 250 gms 
  • Onion, finely chopped – 1 no.
  • Tomatoes, finely chopped – 2-3 nos.
  • Ghee – 2-3 tbsp
  • Kasuri methi – 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic, finely chopped – 3 tbsp
  • Butter – 2tbsp 
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Fresh coriander, finely chopped
  • Coal – 1 piece 

Method :-

1. In a bowl, marinate the chicken with all the spices except Garam Masala for 2hrs or overnight.
2. Smoke the marinated chicken with a piece of coal & keep it covered for an hour. 
3. Heat ghee in a kadhai & saute onion till translucent. 
4. Add 1 tsp garlic & saute for a minute.
5. Add the tomatoes & salt. Cover & cook on low flame.
6. Add the marinated chicken & mix it well. Cover & cook till half done.
7. Mix water with remaining marination & add it to the gravy. Cover & cook on low flame till the chicken is cooked.
8. In a pan, melt butter & add the remaining garlic. Saute till it is golden brown & add it to the gravy.
9. Finish it with crushed Kasuri Methi, fresh coriander & Garam Masala.
10. Serve hot with roti or naan.

Note – If the gravy is too tart, add a pinch of sugar to balance.
